After my 20 minute blast yesterday and with light wind forecast for today we were in no hurry to get out.So after a leisurely breakfast at the dip with Mag,a walk along the prom meeting several friends. By which time Neil had arrived so we decided to go for a longboard cruise in the 10 kt onshore wind. So by the time I had dinner and got my gear and rigged we were on the water around 2, me with 9.4 and neil with 8.2. Neil said he had'nt been up the Deben for ages so we decided to head to Ramsholt to buy an ice cream :) Neil said I was to wait for him as I had the bigger sail but on the run to the pub Neil pulled away and got there first, my cause was not helped by falling in several times and not seeing where I was sailing through my misty monofilm sail !!! Sadly no ice cream for sale at Ramsholt :( so after a quick drink we headed back, by which time the breeze had really picked up in the river and we were maxed for a while :) As the tide was low we had to make lots of tacks in and out of the racing dinghies which was great fun !!! We were head to head for ages but I managed to pull away when the wind eased the nearer we got to the open sea !!! So Neil won the first leg and I the second and we had a great 12 n/mile sail in the sunshine, spotting a seal and loads of sea birds.Another break at the dip and with a breeze still there I had a beat to the old windsurfing hut and back to round off a great day :)
